Taking into account the importance of health in everyone's health, even the search for healing is always enormous.
During 2019 alone, over a thousand and 136 Kosovars have sought financial support for medical treatment outside public health institutions.
The number of those who have gained financial support to be treated abroad is about 1,000 and 200 Kosovo citizens.
In a response given to Indexline from the Health Ministry, it has become known that the countries where Kosovars have gone for health care are: Turkey, Macedonia, Albania, Germany, Croatia and others.
Eye diseases, cardiosurgics, malignant disease, are just some of the health problems most patients sought treatment outside Kosovo.
“klinks which most refer to patients for treatment are: Otamology (eye disease), Paddy ( cardiosurgic disease, mountain diseases etc), Ortopedia, ORL (Otrorinolaryringology), Hemantooncology, etc”, told Indexline of Health Insurance Fund-Zyra of Treatments Out of Public Institutions.
Lack of credibility in public health institutions and non-adequate services keep citizens demanding that their services be performed abroad, or in private hospitals.
Of course, such a thing is quite disturbing, considering the importance of health in the country.
For all this situation created by the MSH, it has been declared that new health services are under way in Kosovo in order for patients to receive services here, both in the field of cardiosurgeology and other clinics.
There are new health services under way in Kosovo so that patients can receive services here, as in the field of Cardiosurgia, Invasive Cardiology, Orthopedicia, otamology, etc. And this has contributed to many cases that have been treated abroad recently, to be dealt with at the SSKUK”, highlighted in the answer given by the MSH.
But even during 2018, a large number of Kosovars sought healing abroad. The number of those applied was a thousand and 432 persons, where nearly 9m euros were spent on it.
From governance to government among the main promises to be fulfilled was to invest more in health to improve the situation that patients face almost every day. Changes have been noted to follow this governance, and one of them is signing the list of essential drugs. But a lot of work is still needed in this direction so that patients can be treated in Kosovo without long and possible procedures required to seek health care from Kosovo. /
