Wessel has said that the war categories -- including the families of martyrs, disabled, veterans, families of civilian victims, former political prisoners -- constitute a sensitive part of society and deserve special care from the state.
“The PDK will continue to be with you even more in the next term. We will fight negligible abuses and abuses, taking concrete steps to permanently settle the issue of frauds who have been abused on veterans' lists. I believe in the need to apply active social policies even to the veterans' case”, he said.
This approach to active social policies, according to Wessel, implies promoting different social categories to be autonomous, not dependent on government assistance, being more integrated in society, and being a part of economic life.
I encourage you to have a role as active as possible in society”, Wessel told them.
Leader of The PDK has promised to encourage employment in the private sector and fight informality, in the upcoming governing mandate it will decide that all veterans employed in the private sector will receive full veteran's payment. And for employees in the public sector who receive money from taxpayers, Wessel has said this payment of veterans will take place at 50%.
In addition to pensions, veterans' scheme beneficiaries will continue to have levy from electricity spending and release from car spending. Likewise, they will be given priority in taking credit for opening businesses or agricultural subsidies so that veterans can build their successful businesses and become part of the country's” economic growth, Wessel said.
On the other hand, he has asked veterans for support in fighting corruption, which is the biggest cause of youth migration and the biggest obstacle to Kosovo's future.
“I am convinced that you feel that Kosovo feels a little bit like the other one, because you have been willing to give your life to Kosovo. All of us as former fighters bear the heavy burden of the amateurs of fellow fighters who have fallen on our battlefield, who have dreamed of a free, independent and developed Kosovo. So I invite you all to join in the fight against corruption to build Kosovo's future”, Wessel has said.
Leader of The PDK has told veterans that they together have fought to free Kosovo from invaders, and together we must fight to free Kosovo even from corruption.
Wessel has said that even this war will be difficult, but again they will win to build a better future for Kosovo and the new generations.
