VV Activist sentenced to prison on bail and fine: He did not declare his wealth

Former Soviets in the Malisheva municipality, Valon Hoti, charged with not declaring property on Wednesday, has been sentenced to six months in prison on bail, as well as 400 euros in fines from the Constitutional Court in Gjakova, the Malisheva branch. However, the prison sentence against him will not be executed, unless he commits another one-year verifiable period, reports “Justice Trust”.
The accused Hoti is also obliged to pay the 30-euro judicial wig, as well as 20 euros for compensation of the victims.
The prosecution against the accused was announced by case judge Njazi Morina, after he had earlier pleaded guilty to the criminal act.
Otherwise, in the initial review, held on September 13, 2019, former Minister Hoti had pleaded guilty, adding that this was not deliberate, since he had no time to declare his wealth in terms.
The defendant's plea has not been rejected by prosecutor Armend Zenelaj, adding that the accused has understood the nature and consequences of admitting guilt and that this admission finds support in the evidence and facts containing the indictment.
According to the indictment filed on February 1, 2018, Valon Hoti is accused of making between March 1st 2017 and 31mars 2017, in the quality of the senior public official, counsellor at the Municipal Assembly in Malisheva, although he has been obliged to make the declaration of wealth, income, gift, other material benefits, or financial obligations, not declared his wealth for the 2016 period, even though he has had to do so until March 31, 2017.
According to the indictment, it has done so despite what the accused has been notified by the Anti-Corruption Agency.
The indictment says that by these actions, accused Valon Hoti has committed criminal work “mon's false reporting or reporting of wealth, income, gift, other material benefits or financial obligations”, by Article 437, paragraph 1 of KPRK.
