The new vote in the LIBE and the report by Tanja Fajon, the European Parliament's rapporteur for the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo, is just evidence of the existing support the European Parliament has offered, during 2018 and 2019, on European Commission's visa removal requirements for Kosovo.
The European Commission in July 2018 has explained that Kosovo has met all conditions required by the European Union for visa liberalisation.
But even after the European Commission's recommendation and the support of the European Parliament, EU member states have not yet reached an agreement on the issue, the news broadcasts.net.
In the European Commission, they have told “Tanjug” that “has no innovation regarding visa liberalisation for Kosovo” and commemorates that the final decision on this is in EU member states.
In order for Kosovo to gain free movement in the Schengen area, there must be majority support in the EU Council more than 55 per cent of at least 65 per cent of members.
