Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri has congratulated all students at the start of the new 2019/2020 school year, in particular children since the beginning of this year were repatriated from Syria.

He said there are 74 Albanian children out of the horror of the war, to give them a new opportunity like any of their peers.

Minister Tahiri's full statement:

From today begins a new period for our children. In the schools of the Republic, which are a source of knowledge and socialization, teachers welcome thousands of children with them on the road to future construction.

This starting school year is even more special. I am very happy that today school banks will also bring down children returning from the conflict in Syria.

It wasn't easy to lead such a mission, but I was convinced it was the right decision to take responsibility for these children and bring them back to our country.

74 Albanian children have been taken out of the horrors of the war to give them a new opportunity like any of their peers.

Nowhere better than at school is such an opportunity found.

We need to support and encourage them to learn and become part of the social life that takes place within our schools.

With their return, not only have we displayed a human side of our values as a society, but we have set a new standard on the global plain, which today is also reference to the most developed democratic countries.

In this case, these children in particular and all the children of the Republic of Kosovo who started school, I want you to enjoy good health and learning.
