The quake fell about 09:50, and the Epicentraer was at sea on the southeastern island of Crete.

The European-Mediterranean Seismology Centre reports that the earthquake had a depth of 20 kilometers and is 5.6 Richter.

It is similar to the force that rocked Albania on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a 4.7 earthquake is also reported. Richter has fallen in Turkey's western region, 64km west of Istanbul.
