Recently about this issue has also written “Vecernje Novosti” under reports of which the international police organisation is hiding who is pushing Kosovo to accept it.
“Pristina claims that almost all members of the Interpol Executive Committee agreed that the request for its admission be considered at the next General Assembly in Chile, Interpol headquarters say the agenda for that session will be introduced only in October”.
The 88th Interpol Assembly Day “was taken into consideration in June, but it is still not known whether there were a majority vote to include Pristina's application for admission”.
The Executive Committee will approve the 88th General Assembly agenda at the next meeting in October. The agenda is then voted in the Assembly, so we cannot provide more information at this stage,” said Interpol.
The Interpol Executive Committee has 13 members -- Algeria, Russia, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, France, Brazil, Moldova, Angola, Nigeria, the Netherlands and the South Korean Presidency -- while countries of America and Asia are empty.
Of those countries, seven do not recognise Kosovo's independence. The Interpol General Assembly will be held from 15 October to 18 October in the capital of Chile, Santiago.
