Two US senators -- Republican Ron Johnson and Democrat Chris Murphy -- after meetings they had with the heads of state of the Republic of Kosovo in Pristina -- have travelled to Belgrade, where they will meet with Serbia's president today, Alexander Vuciq..
US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott and Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic will also attend.
The main reason for the visit of two US senators to Pristina and Belgrade is the dialogue on normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia.
During their stay in Pristina both had stated that the resumption of dialogue and reaching an agreement between the two countries would be the key to unlocking the future for the Western Balkans.
In addition to Murphy, the two countries have to realise that sacrifices must be made to the achievement of a final agreement, and that the two states will fall off to make difficult solutions.
Days earlier US Secretary of State Mike Pompe had appointed as Special Representative for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer.
Palmer has indicated that the resumption of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade will be one of the most important things in his agenda in the Western Balkans.
In addition to American senators in Kosovo, German Chancellor Angela Merkel's deputy Peter Beyer has stayed on the CUD.
He has reiterated the German stance against the idea of overhauling borders, and has warned a visit by Palmer to Kosovo and Serbia.
