Rama considers Kurz's re-election as Austria's Chancellor a major victory for the Western Balkans.
“Hurme Sebastian Curtis for the grand victory and I am truly happy for Albania and the Western Balkans that a champion of our common European future will lead friendly Austria for the coming critical years. Well done, Chancellor”, writes Rama.
About 6.4 million Austrians had the right to vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections. The vote followed the Kurz coalition collapse with the far-right party, the freedom party, FPO, following a video scandal that forced Deputy Kenzer Hainz Christian Strache to resign.
33-year-old Kurz turned out to be free of scandal FPO and even won votes from it, while support for it increased by a fifth of the electorate compared to the last elections in 2017, writes TCh.
