This year this municipality will have the largest budget for about 11m euros, the means it has benefited from the Law for Pristina.
Following numerous objections mainly by opposition parties, the budget proposal suffered some changes in the agreement with Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti.
Agim Gashi, on behalf of the LDK, had remarks on the distribution of the 2020 budget, which asked to be made a revision of the distribution because, according to him, distribution has been done without the co-ordination or co-operation of the opposition in this assembly.
Gashi has sought to enter the budget for drinking water and sewage projects for the villages of Gollak, for which his demand with budgetary changes has been accepted. And according to him, there is no movement from personal revenues and they are not consistent with the medium-term frame.
Mirsad Vitita from the VV presented disagreements on the budget, which according to him, has increased the budget for expenses in administration and for the purchase of five cars, which, according to which President Shpend Ahmeti has declined.
Leutrim Retkoceri from the PDK, stressing that it does not support the proposed budget, said the 2020 budget remains traditional, but unfortunately it is not the budget with priorities. Also, Arber Vokrri, from VV, said that even though there is a 2020 budget increase, there is a reduction in the health budget, which, according to him, is unacceptable.
Assemblywoman Naim Osmani from the LDK raised concerns about not introducing any projects for Pristina villages to the Podujevo budget.
Egzon Azem from the VV, said that citizens' demands for the 2020 budget have not been taken into account, while added that President Shpend Ahmeti has only been engaged in campaigning and lying.
Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has argued that municipal revenues are defined by the central government, under which there are defining limits from the Ministry of Finance, while for goods and services, according to Ahmeti, there are increases in spending over 1m euros.
According to him, 2. 5m euros have been earmarked with this budget for the construction of the tunnel on the “Agim Ramadani” road, while, following the request of LDK water pipelines, 500 thousand euros from this project will be transported to the Gollak village pipeline.
The mayor acknowledged that 19 Pristina municipality villages have no water supply, and expressed readiness to have the means become a solution to the water and drink at Gollak as well.
Ahmeti said that with this draft budget it is meant to build a slaughterhouse as well. The AAK and AKR have supported the 2020 budget decision. And after a pause, the Asamps will discuss other points of the agenda.
