Prisoner relates 23-year-old event that killed in Dubrava Prison

He has denied statements that were issued by the KMDLNJ and the Kosovo Correcting Service, saying none are true.

According to him, prisoner F. I, he didn't meet any psychologist, as he said. The KMDLNJ, which has F.I, “during its stay in the Dubrava Prison, has been visited by psychologist, psychiatrist, purmologist, dentist and other doctors with whom he has claimed to think of self-independence”.

However, the ombudsman and other organisations' monitoring reports -- although they speak of poor conditions in Kosovo prisons -- do not deny that prisoners have regular medical and social workers' visits.

The prisoner suffering punishment says that he and others are never faced with psychologists or psychiatrists, not even if they are present.

The prisoner said he stayed with the F.I. in the same building, and really, he never mentioned suicide but wanted to be visited by a doctor. On the contrary, as he says, he found support but was beaten by the chief of change.

It's because of what's going on here. That could be an institution with these things. I was in an F building. He was hanged for other reasons. They've given other motives for suicide. Even KMDLNJ has issued a statement that is scandalous. There are no psychologists or psychiatrists in Dubrava prison. 90 percent of inmates have never even seen them. The problem is someone has ever dealt with these (F.I)”, the prisoner has indicated.

It's not true that he (F.I) has warned suicide. He's been looking for medical help and not being sent to the doctor. They're scandalous statements, it's surprising that the state does this, keeps people in prison for their crimes is committing a crime. He's been begging for help because of his headaches, the staff has refused to send him on the contrary, we have witnesses, the chief of the shift has struck him twice with the slap, and then he's having his own oven”, he says, asking to remain anonymous because, as he put it, “these are punishing us”.

The same has been true of their severe hygienic and elementary conditions. He says the therapies should be looking for them.
