British Prime Minister Boris Johnson plans to stick to his idea of refusing to ask the EU for a postponement of the deadline despite ministers' resignations and a draft law passed in Parliament urging him to do so.
Johnson has said that “would rather die in a channel of” than ask for the European background time for his country to reach a better deal for Brex.
This, according to political opinionists and judicial experts, may, however, send him to prison.
But prison opportunity is just the last bad news for Johnson, which has had a very bad week as prime minister, Vox explains, translates Periscopi.
On Saturday, Amber Rudd, a senior member of his cabinet, resigned following concerns that her chief was not trying to reach agreement before October 31st. Even his brother, Jo Johnson, had resigned on Tuesday because of disputes over Brex, saying it is “divided between loyalty to the family (Prime Minister, his brother) and national interest. ”
Johnson has three options by October 19th. Either it must reach an agreement that would be ratified in parliament, or it will have to go to Brussels to seek the EU more time or, apparently, must spend some of its life in prison. /Periscope
