This federation has said it has taken care of all the interventions being made for the construction of hydropower plants at Kosovo ski resorts, including Brezovica, Brodin, Decanin and Rugova.
The KSF Executive Board, on behalf of dozens of ski clubs, hundreds of athletes, finds that building these plants will cause major and irreparable consequences at tourist and ski centres in the country. The lack of water in these large Kosovo assets would result in the disruption of numerous Kosovo skiers, completely paralysing ski centres, lowering the value of these centres in the privatisation process, lowering the action of many businesses and greatly reducing the number of visitors at these” centres, the KSF response said.
This federation has also said that works for the hydropower plant in Brezovica have not yet been halted.
In response, the KSF has called for immediate intervention of state institutions to take the immediate “measures to halt the destruction of Kosovo ski centres”,
This federation has demanded that water safety solutions for ski centres be laid off.
“In the sport of water skiing is the main element for the development of the center, without which the track for racing cannot be forwarded, nor can artificial snow be produced that is very important for the development of international competitions, as well as for the quality of the path itself. We believe that the state will take the necessary measures as soon as possible, and make a solution for Kosovo ski centres”, it is further said in response.
The response ends with warning of protests or disruption of the work itself if the state steps out.
