Kosovo could be hit by devastating earthquake like Albania

During yesterday's day, Albania was hit by several earthquakes, where the most powerful was the 5.8-degree epic in Durres. In addition to material damage, over 100 people sought medical help because of the injuries they had suffered, writes Indexline. In addition to material damage, over 100 people sought medical help because of the injuries they had suffered, writes Indexline.
But is Kosovo's territory threatened by such an earthquake in the coming years?
Indexline contacted the head of the Geophysics and Engineering Sector at the Kosovo Geological Service, seismologist Shemsi Mustafa to ask him about it.
He said Kosovo's territory is an active area in terms of sysmoteknik and could be hit by an earthquake like in Albania in the next 50 years.
Albania's “Territor in the sysmotektnik aspect represents an active terrain, earthquake data from the past clearly testifies that the phenomenon of strong earthquakes in some parts of Albania's territory has been very early and based on these seismic events in the past, Albania takes place in the highly seismic area. ”
Kosovo's “Territor in the sysmotektnik aspect represents an active terrain, earthquake data from the past clearly testify that the phenomenon of strong earthquakes in some parts of Kosovo's territory has been evident very early and based on these seismic events in the past, Kosovo takes place in the seismic activity area. Based on the seismic threat map for Kosovo that I give some data on earthquakes for a return period -- that is, in Kosovo, catastrophic earthquakes are expected, according to the map of seismic danger for a period of return 50 years can occur a quake of magnitude up to 6.0 levels of rether -- and for a period of return 100 years, a earthquake of magnitude to 6,1-6.5 degrees of innovation can occur, so in the power of this type of earthquake, we call it the powerful earthquake-thing term.<1x>
On the other hand, Mustafa added that the risk rate depends on citizens themselves.
And we can't stop earthquakes by ourselves, because we're prepared for natural disasters, because the earthquake is a natural phenomenon that happens without warning, in a word, we can't stop earthquakes but we can reduce or reduce damage from natural disasters by respecting all the parameters posed by the Seismic Network for Kosovo territory as the criteria for high construction. ”
Kosovo's seismic threat map shows that the repeat period for earthquakes with magnitude=4.5, 5.5, 6.5, and 6.5 are, respectively, 3.1, 14.2, 69.8 and 502.4 years; while an earthquake of Magnitude m=6.7 repeats every 2446 years. From a pro - Babylonian point of view, every 50 years you awaited an earthquake of Magnitude at 6:5.9 with probables 51.2%; and every century, an earthquake of magnitudes to 6.1 with probs 76.2%. ”
For better security in the future, measures need to be taken to analyze more seriously the situation of borderless construction and risks they bring as a result of their lack of research in a large part of the geologic criteria, seismic, geomesic and geophysic engineering. Mustafa concluded.
