The International Translation Day is marked every September 30th in many parts of the world in honor of the first Bible translators, considered a sacred advocate of translation.
This is an opportunity to display pride in the profession, which is at once becoming increasingly necessary in the area of global progress.
This day had begun to be celebrated by the International Translation Federation since 1953.
In 1991 the Federation launched the idea of international recognition of Translation Day to express solidarity of the worldwide translation community as an effort to promote professional translation in various lands, not limited to Christian ones.
