Following President Hashim Thaci's invitation, the mission for Election Observation (EOM) The EU decided to oversee the October 6th 2019 early parliamentary elections. The elections are one of the fundamental components of democracy. They present opportunities for Kosovo's people to exercise the democratic right to vote and elect their leaders.
The EU calls for a peaceful, transparent and comprehensive election process, according to international standards and Law Rule.
All political parties and leaders must ensure that they carry out a humble campaign focused on concrete programmes for the interests of Kosovo's people, Periscopi explains.
Strengthening the electoral process is an essential part of the electoral cycle. The EU and the OSCE have jointly supported the establishment of an ad hoc Assembly Commission and an advisory group on the issue.
The EU invites all parties to take the work of the Ad Hoc Committee seriously, and after the elections implement the recommendations that will come from our Monitoring Mission.
