The Council for Consumer Protection today held its fifth meeting this year to discuss reporting the implementation of the Consumer Protection Programme's 2016-2020 programme, as well as preparing the Council's 2019 annual Consumer Protection Report.
Representatives of various government institutions, regulators and non-governmental organisations participated in the meeting. Also, both observers and representatives of the European Commission project “participated. Free Movement of goods” FMG.
The decision was made to monitor the implementation of the 2016-2020 Consumer Protection Programme to be requested by relevant institutions, which are involved in the programme, to compile the final report at the end of the year about implementing the pre-priced targets under the Council for Consumer Protection programme. For this point, the Council unanimously decided that the FOL Movement and the GAP Institute, since they are members of this council, will prepare the demand that will be sent to relevant institutions for reporting on implementation of the Consumer Protection Programme, as well as will file the collection for the final report, which will prepare the Council for Consumer Protection.
Also discussed at this meeting were the current situation in the area of consumer protection, in specific areas such as energy sector, the derivative sector, and the financial sector, and various vital sectors for consumers.
Finally, it was discussed on donor assistance opportunities, which, during the application of consumer protection organisations to various funds in donors, can be found more supporting and easier to support these organisations.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry will constantly engage in support of consumers.
