According to a panel of UN scientists, the water level is rising, the ice is melting and living things are changing environments because of human activities.
The report also mentions that losing ice zones endangers the release of a larger amount of carbon.
But there is hope that the most serious effects can be overlooked if done immediately in reducing carbon emissions.
This is the third report produced by the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change in the past 12 months.
Previously, scientists have analyzed how the world can function if temperatures rise by 1.5 degrees Celsius by the end of this century.
They have also reported what impact climate change can have on land territories.
However, the new study, which analyzes the impact of rising ocean temperatures and frozen regions, may be the most disturbing of the three publications. /rel/
