“During numerous meetings in New York we will work especially in service of recognitions of the Republic of Kosovo”, he has said.
While writing on Facebook to open 74th General Assembly session works, he has said the central issue of the work of this session will be multilateral co-operation in the functioning of implementation of the platform for sustainable development 2030”.
Besides, special attention will be given to the joint commitment against extreme poverty and violent extremism, efforts to better education and economic development, and the co-ordination of attitudes to cope with climate change”, he wrote.
He has announced that Albania's efforts are directed towards ensuring the support of various countries for Albania's candidacy for the non-permanent member state at the Security Council.
“Consider Albania's ambition to secure the non-permanent member's seat at the Security Council 2022-2023, a significant part of the Albanian delegation's efforts will be directed precisely towards ensuring the political support of various participating countries for our candidacy! As host of many regional initiatives, NATO members and future OSCE leaders, Albania has not only proven high credibility on the multilateral level in general but also offers an almost irreplaceable programme for the seat of non-permanent Security Council member in particular”, it has written.
Cakaj has said they will also talk about opening Albania's EU membership negotiations.
