Attack in Texas, 5 dead and 21 wounded

The gunman, who started shooting after his car was stopped by police on Saturday afternoon, was killed by security forces after entering the parking lot of a amusement complex.

No details have been given about the victims until Sunday morning, but it is reported that among those killed there is a 17-month-old boy who was shot in the face and died later in the hospital. The news revealed hospital officials in Odessa, Texas.

This is the second mass attack in Texas only in August. On August 3rd, an attacker killed 22 people and injured 24 others in El Paso.

The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, said: “The first lady and I are heartened after this senseless and cowardly attack and we offer our support to victims, their families and all the inhabitants of Midland and Odessa-s”.

Authorities announced that the incident began about 3 and 17 minutes on Saturday afternoon at the local time, when a policeman stopped a golden Honda-type car after giving no sign of turning left.

The suspected man started shooting at the police car and then robbed a mail truck, continuing the armed attack. Police described the attacker as a white man in his 30s, writes the Guardian”
