application tariffs to get Albanian citizenship multiplied

The tariffs of the application for receiving Albanian citizenship will be doubled.

Those who will apply for Albanian citizenship in Albania's diplomatic representatives -- of the 30 euros they paid earlier -- will then pay 300 euros. This will happen following the adoption of the Law on Citizenship in the Republic of Albania, writes Koha Ditore.

The State Bill has been deposited in the Assembly by the Government on July 2nd this year. This bill is in procedure pending approval at the plenary hearing, after switching to commissions.

“Actually based on the Joint Guide of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Order for procedures and documentation for profit, regaining and giving up Albanian citizenship, the service fee (aplication for citizenship) is in the amount of 5,000 leks for persons applying within the country, and 30 euros for persons applying close to diplomatic representatives. It is predicted that the number of applicants under this bill will be some 1,500 people. The fee for the application is proposed to be at 300 euros, in reference to tariffs implemented at the regional level, as well as to be adopted with joint guidelines by the Interior Minister, Minister of Finance and Economy, and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs”, says the rating report accompanying the Bill for State in the Republic of Albania...
