Sarah Thomas, 37, began the challenge in the early hours of Sunday and ended Tuesday morning, after more than 54 hours.
The swimmer, who completed treatment of breast cancer a year ago.
She said she did this on behalf of all cancer survivors.
Previously, only four swimmers crossed the English Channel in swimming, three times without stopping.
This channel, connects England and France.
The shorter distance between the two countries is 21 nautical miles, but it passes through one of the world's most heavily loaded transport trajectories.
