The Central Election Commission in Kosovo six years ago decided that the CEC's logo on local elections in November 2013 should be on the list.
By that time, the coating of the Republic of Kosovo was in place.
Authorities in Belgrade had asked that on the 3 November ballot papers there be no signs of Kosovo's citizenship, since otherwise, they would not call on Kosovo Serbs to participate in the election process.
The CEC's decision was welcomed by the US Embassy in Pristina.
Atifete Jahjaga, who at the time held the post of Kosovo president, has encouraged the CEC to find solutions in line with the mandate to respect Kosovo's constitutionality and legitimacy and ensure sweeping participation in the 3 November municipal elections.
