Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Kadri Veselini has said today that with the citizens' trust in the new parliamentary elections, he will launch the biggest battle in his political career ʹ the fight against corruption and nepotism. He has said that this battle, which is very difficult, has started by his party and will continue in all Kosovo institutions. Leader of The PDK, Kadri Veselin, in an interview for Kosovapress, says that just as it has fought against Serbia, it will fight against corruption and organised crime. He estimates that the fight against corruption and nepotism will open Kosovo new prospects of economic development and the creation of new jobs for all citizens indiscriminately.

Many leaders of other parties deal with me and with the Democratic Party of Kosovo. More needs to be dealt with problems that citizens have, which is corruption, organised crime, nepotism, confrontation with Serbia. I swear to God it's sometimes hindering me when we put red lines between Albanians, but I have red lines only with Serbia and until the end I have with the enemies of the state of Kosovo and my nation, the Albanian nation. That's my orientation. I will have good communication with everyone for the good of Kosovo and its defence to move forward. I am very pleased with the response of the citizens who are giving great support. I see it every day from field meetings. I promise. I don't do that for votes, or to win a set of elections and a power. So, shameful is he who thinks about it. I have to go until the end. I have said it and am repeating how I fought against Serbia, I have to fight against corruption and negative phenomena that harm Kosovo. Because, it is weakening Kosovo even in the face of Serbia. I won't be tolerant of people in my party and leave them to other parties. There'll be four-year rule of corrupt people, and we'll give young and corrupt people a chance. It's a journey that's unstoppable. There's no escape. This is also my vital goal in politics, even though I run for Prime Minister. To end up meeting with Serbia and to give our Kosovo perspective in the uncompetitive fight against corruption and in employment and economic development. With the US and Western European partners, Kosovo should never dim the reports and look at them as enemies”, Veselin said.

Chairman The PDK has also spoken in this interview about the recent positions of Kosovo allies, Quinti countries. He has said that in these upcoming elections, citizens will decide whether to continue the path of secure partnership with our Western allies, or if they want the country to remain isolated and without friends.

“are the reasonable concerns of our Kosovo friends with whom we have reached freedom here and achieved the independent and sovereign state, so we must walk together. What is most important, from these elections to be held, will be very crucial for the direction Kosovo will take. Will it be a course of Kosovo's partnership and strategic wisdom that together with this partnership we will defend what we have achieved so far and move safely towards Euro-Atlantic integration, or we will go on an adventure, which has many unknowns that confront the United States and our Western European partners seen as enemies. So it's important and I've met most of the ambassadors of the United States and Western countries. They're with Kosovo, they're for Kosovo and I'm sure that citizens will know in their decision-making to give this direction and this partnership, to empower even more”, says Wessel.

Leader of The PDK has also talked about yesterday's meeting between Isa Mustaf and Albin Kurti and the possibility that the VVI's LDK will make a pre-election coalition. He says that from the Mustafa- Kurti meetings it's just a sure thing which will not be realised: The fight against corruption and organised crime, as Wessel put it, was only for their personal interests.

“These are normal appointments. In political circumstances, the leaders also make coalitions. It's relatively unusual the story that these two people are trying to become partners under new circumstances. In fact, there may be only one thing from that meeting, it is a meeting that citizens of the Republic of Kosovo can expect nothing from. The meeting that has the interest to accommodate their interests, their fellow partners, is an interest in power. It's good to see even citizens have what principles they have in what they've labeled each other. But one more fact is needed, there is also a meeting that expresses a fear, because they cannot face the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
