Through a Facebook status, Kadri Veselini has said that thanks to the KLA's war on one side and the establishment of partnership with Western allies, Kosovo has achieved freedom and independence.

Therefore, he stresses that these elections will be crucial where citizens will decide for those who preserve and strengthen alliances with international friends, or for those who treat international partners as enemies and leave Kosovo alone.

Kadri Wessel's full status: I spent the morning with some guests of ambassadors who are finishing their mandate in Kosovo.

British Ambassador Ruairí OʹConnell and Croatian Ambassador Marija Kapitanovic, I expressed my gratitude for the contribution given during the time they served in Kosovo and wished them good work in their future tasks. Kosovo achieved its independence thanks to the KLA's bold fight on the one hand and by building a strong coalition with international partners on the other.

One of the topics that citizens will have to decide in the upcoming elections is whether Kosovo will continue to strengthen its special relations with our allies or treat our partners as enemies and try to survive alone. I always believed in partnership. I think that to succeed and prosper, we have to maintain the special relations we have built with the US and the EU. I am convinced that by damaging this relationship Kosovo is damaged, therefore we should not allow this to happen.
