US President Donald Trump called his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and offered help to Russia in the fight against fires in the Siberian forests, the Kremlin press office said.

”Putin stressed that planes and helicopters are extinguishing the” fires, Russian news agency Interfax stressed.
The situation of fires in Siberia and the Far Russian East deteriorated because regional authorities failed to take sufficient measures to fight them on time.
” Local and regional authorities have failed to control the situation, so the federal government was forced to intervene”, the Kremlin press office concluded.
