The heat wave that grabbed the European continent by breaking records seems to already be turning its eyes towards the Balkan region.
Meteorologists have warned the launch of another wave, which will this time focus on the Mediterranean, with hot African currents continuing until mid-August.
Over time, the wave is expected to be relatively long.
The heat peak will be registered on Sunday and next Wednesday, where temperatures in southern Italy, but in Albania can reach 40 degrees Celsius, reports “Top Channel”
Between Saturday and next Monday, the heat will intensify further north, but will stand around the 35-degree border.
By then, however, the heat in the region will be more restrained, thanks to the passage of a fresh air mass from the Atlantic.
The last heat wave claimed some people's lives in Europe, where temperatures in France reached a new record 45.9 degrees Celsius. For the burning heat, meteorologists blamed the size of the hot air coming from North Africa.
France has been transformed into seventh place in Europe, crossing the 45 degree Celsius border, along with Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece and northern Macedonia.
