In July it was marked by the highest trade deficit in Kosovo. If we compare the same period last year, 5.3% is the highest trade deficit, worth 296.3 million euros, compared to the 281.4m Euro deficit in 2018.
According to some data from the AKS report, the export of goods in July 2019 was worth 40.4m euros, while import was worth 336.8m euros, which is a 40.5% export increase, and an 8.6% increase for import, compared to the same period in 2018.
While 37.3% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 10.9% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 10.6% make up plastics, tires and articles from them; 8.6% make up plant products; 7.3% make up minerals; 3.3% make up different products produced; 3.0% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc.
And for import, 15.1% mineral products; 13.0% machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12.9% prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 9.5% basic metals and articles from them; 9.0% transport; 6.8% chemical industry products; 5.9% plastics, tires and items from them; etc.
According to these data, Kosovo exports to EU countries reached 13.0m euros, or about 32.2% of total exports, with an increase of 69.2%.
And the main partners for EU export of goods are: Austria (8.9%), Germany (6.5%), the Netherlands (4.0%), Great Britain (2.0%), etc.
On the other hand, Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 163.1m euros, or 48.4% of total imports, with an increase of 28.4%.
Where high turnout imports were from: Germany (12.5%), Italy (7.4%), Greece (4.6%), Bulgaria (3.6%), Poland (3.1%), Slovenia (3.1%), etc.
As far as Kosovo exports with CEFTA countries reached 16.6m euros, or 41.3% of total exports, in July, with an increase of 4.1%. Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania (16.7%), Macedonia (10.8%), Montenegro (6.4%) and Serbia (6.0%).
In turn, imports from CEFTA countries in July 2019 amounted to 49.2m euros, or 14.6% of total imports, with a drop of (40.5%). The countries with the highest share in import was: Albania (6.8%), Macedonia (6.8%) and Serbia (0.7%).
On the other hand, Kosovo exports with other countries of the world reached 10.7m euros, or 26.6%. As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: India (18.2%) and Switzerland (5.0%).
