An MP was injured Wednesday after being shot by a sniper in Los Angeles's Lancaster Station.

The MP was in a parking lot when he was shot in the chest by sniper. The first suspicions are that the shooter was at the apartments of Mental Health America, a government-sponsored facility for people with mental health problems.

The “is not a difficult tactical situation, there is no control over who enters inside or outside the building, and there are still people inside”- said Lancaster R. Rex Parris.

The MP was wearing an bulletproof vest, which saved his life by stripping the bullet in his shoulder, he added, and has now been transported to the hospital.
