Serbia Urged to Condition on Return of Undiscovered Troops

Family of missing persons in Kosovo are seeking from the Kosovo Government and the International Red Cross to condition Serbia with the return of troops of their family, missing for two decades. Government Commission for Missing Persons has gathered where, in addition to the demands of family members, it has discussed the day's notice [...]

Hopelessly and with tears in their eyes, they attended the meetings of the commission, family members of missing persons, and representatives of their associations today.

They called for pressure on Serbia, and conditioning with the return of troops of their most loved ones.

Two decades after the end of the war in Kosovo, they are considering that they are not getting enough in whitewashing the fate of their missing family members.

Nysrete Kumnova, from the association “mothers' calls”, expressed concern over 300 mortore remains at the Law Medicine Institute, which he said prevents them from being buried somewhere without knowing who they belong to.

The 300 mortar remains are spoken of as being identified for many years, but are not known who they belong to. Why don't you make this choice, these families, so we can understand for themselves, we've been looking for them for years, at least I'm talking about myself, if only one piece of it is found in my son Albion, not to keep those 300 mortar remains that don't know who they belong to, because they belong to someone. And I don't agree that much talk, that it's good with I take those remains and bury them somewhere, we won't allow them as family, because they're somebody's”, she said.

She took the pledge of Ramush Haradinaj's adviser, Jahja Luka, who told her that no one would dare to touch those mortar remains until their fate dawns.

According to him, burial will only take place for those remainings that are not part of the war.

“300 mortore remains that are not allowed to be touched until luck dawns and proper procedures” are not conducted, he said.

Nestrete Kumnova also spoke of state support that Haradinaj Government has promised them, for increasing pensions for the families of the missing persons.

We know the Government is on the decline, but it relates to the last meeting we've been after, we've talked and harmonised that as a commission, as a member, for increasing the pensions of the families of the dead. Unfortunately, this may have failed, but may not, I have a question for Mr. Jahja Luka as it belongs to the party belonging to the prime minister, will this continue to raise the wages of the families of the dead. Or we'll just stick to what we've been, no kids and no poor”, she said.

Jahja Luka said the working group will finish its work, despite the government's resignation.

According to him, the government has done its job and has approved the working group's proposal for the new pension law to include growth for this category.

“Concept the document has been completed and approved in Government, we are awaiting the Constitutional Court's decision, I don't want to politicise the meeting, the task force for preparing the law is established, function, work and prepare the law and give God the quick-to-do elections, and I don't believe that the Kosovo Parliament, no matter what composition it will be, and who will lead this future government, and who will approve this law, but without the new Parliament being approved with the amendments proposed, there has not been any increase, said he.

Today's meeting of the commission also discussed the August 30th, International Day of Missing Persons, where an organisational council will be formed.

Commission Chairman Prenk Kerey proposed that all members of the commission and family representatives be part of the organisational council.

But, representative of Serbian families of missing persons, Milorad Trifunovac, announced that on the same day he will participate in a promotion of a book, where he has issued statements, and cannot participate in the organisation of August 30th.

And this led Haradinaj's adviser, Jahja llaka and Commission Chairman Prenk Lotaj, to have disagreements.

This proposal of yours, Mr. Mayor, is not to say the pure communist proposal, we are all, we are not. Milorad says I'm not, like, kind of like Milorad, he said I'm busy, that I'm now becoming a translator of Milorad, he's got his own business, that you don't do Central Committee commission with 30 people, because you don't have much work to do, that's what you've got to do, that's what you've got to do. Since you started this council has 50 men to go. Make an organisational council and share tasks to do this, if you want to, I know from now on that there's a job with someone else, and those who are on these papers, few jobs are done. Don't do this because we're full. As chairman of the commission, shoot yourself first if you are able to do the job, if you can, say like Milorad, I have to go to promotion of the book”, he said.

According to him, there is no need for more than six or seven persons.

The organisational Council does not mean that on that concrete day, as Milorad said I am not, the preparation of the council does for the international day note. He said 30, I'm not”, Lorej said.

Kosovo will mark International Day for Missing Persons on August 30th.

At today's meeting of the commission, the organisation for this day was proposed to have more in municipalities, not all in the capital.
