Mohammad, one of Al Qaeda's leading figures and also known as the “the main architect” of the horrific attacks, will appear on trial on January 11th of 2021, along with four other suspects.
The five men are accused of war crimes, including terrorism, taking planes under control and about 3,000 counts of murder because of their role in organising the 11 September attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
If convicted, they may be sentenced to death.
This trial is a step forward in the long legal battle to establish charges under civil and military law for the attack that terrified the world.
This person was arrested in 2003 in Pakistan and was sent to the Guantanamo prison. He had said he would admit the blame, although trying to carry out the trial had failed in 2008, writes <x0-independent”.
