The Central Election Commission has decided that commissioners and decision councils will increase the payments they receive during training days and election day. But from the organisation Democracy Plus have asked political parties to nominated competent people while the CEC organises high-level training.
The Central Election Commission has decided that commissioners and decision councils will increase the payments they receive during training days and election day.
This 33% increase is considered reasonable, according to Ilir Gashi from the Council for Business Finance.
He has said the amount the commissioners will receive in one day is 33.50 euros. They will pursue three days of training and work election day. In all, commissioners will be paid 134 euros for four working days.
“We have made decision on the budget as a whole, and we have requested on the basis of the research units to increase the budget for brokers as well. There is an increase of payment for commissioners worth 30-33%”, Ilir Gashi said for RTV Dukagjin.
But commissionors, who are appointed by each political subject in Kosovo, according to Valmir Ismaili from Democracy Plus, should attend training rather than happen as in the past.
According to Ismaili, parties should nominated competent people and training to be high-level.
The “would have to have greater commitment from political subjects to nominated competent persons as commissioners and also have greater commitment from the CEC to have a better training of commissioners. Then I consider that this pay raise for commissioners would not be problematic”, Valmir Ismaili said.
Under the CEC's planning, 16800 commissioners and 2,700 chairmans of the deployments will be engaged.
