Two reasons why it was chosen August 22nd for the distribution of the Assembly

The head of the Initiative's parliamentary group, Bilall the Sheriff, has also indicated two reasons why he has been elected August 22nd for the distribution of the Assembly and not a nearest date.

According to him, the first concerns European Union recommendations, which has taken time to prepare its observer mission for extraordinary elections in the country.

“The reason why the date was set is 22 August and not immediately concerns and recommendations of the EU that needed little more time to prepare the observer mission that will take him to Kosovo. If the Assembly were distributed tomorrow and September 15th, it would be the election date they would have difficulty preparing the observer mission to send it to Kosovo and observe the” elections, he said.

He also pointed to another argument that has forced them to decide on August 22nd.

“According to the constitution is in the discretion of the president to announce on the 30th day or on the day of 45 elections, so there is a 15-day discretion, so we decided after these arguments that were put on the table to set for this date, there is no other reason”, the Sheriff said.

Speaking of monitoring elections from international missions, especially from that of the European Union, the Sheriff said it requires good elections organised and orderliness.

The quality of the election body is very important, orderliness is just as important, and we need these elections to be monitored by the international observer mission, especially of the European Union, so we agreed together that the distribution date is August 22nd for the elections to be in late September or October depending on the date when the president” is now scheduled, the Sheriff followed.
