Police arrest seven people in Malisheva

The Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova, respectively, says that the Malisheva Police Police Station, under the ongoing engagements in preventing negative shootings at parties/dasma and the realisation of police targets for creating a safer environment for citizens, has provided information on operational routes that some people suspected at various weddings have fired and have displayed various weapons contrary to the current laws in the Republic of Kosovo, which presents concern for residents.

With the aim of preventing any other incident and removing weapons that are in illegal possession, the Malishev Police Station has compiled an operational plan and in co-ordination with the Founding Prosecutor-Gjakov has provided the warrant issued by the Foundation Court in Gjakova.
With the dates of 09.08.2019 and the 2008,2019 Police Station in Malisheva, supported by the Fast Reaction Unit, has conducted (submission) control of residential objects and other escort facilities at six locations.
During the two police operations in question, seven persons suspected of criminal acts have been arrested in possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons and the use of dangerous weapons or means”, the Kosovo Police report said.

During these checks (submissions) of residential facilities and other escorts in quality of material evidence have been found and these weapons and ammunition seized:
• a (1) AK 47
• a (1) Beretta pistol
• An M70 ZASTAVA model pistol
• five (5) gas pistols
• a (1) repeat rifle (fives)
• three (3) hunting weapons
• 254 rounds of various calibres
• 52 shellings of different calibres
• 1 automatic gun clipper,
• 8 pistol clips.
Police suggest that, in terms of actions taken, the state prosecutor has been announced on whose orders, following the completion of police procedures, arrested persons have been released in regular procedure.
