Political parties in Kosovo have begun to make their calculations for coalitions in early parliamentary elections, expected to be appointed following the distribution of the Kosovo Assembly on 22 August.

But none of them have indicated who they will coalition with and whether there will be union of forces before elections are held.

Analysts of political issues give different opinions about the establishment of pre-election coalitions as the form of preparation to take power.

Imer Mushkolaj, political affairs analyst, speaking of Radio Free Europe, says early parliamentary elections expected to be announced could have pre-election coalitions, but not of major political parties.

“expects the Democratic Order of Kosovo (LDK), Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and étevendosje (PSD) to go into the elections only, while not ruling out the possibility of a coalition between the Kosovo Future (AAK), ) Social Democrat Party (PSD) and the Kosovar Kosova Alliance (AKR), meanwhile, the party -- I'm not sure that you can join these, but the possibility of joining the P7DK, Musko>, notes.

In possible coalitions among political parties, Mushkolaj says, international pressure comes together to create a coalition that can push ahead with processes that have not been achieved so far.

He adds that elections in Kosovo also produce unexpected coalitions in the sense, as he says, often so far it has occurred to the coalition to enter parties which previously citizens have had no idea they could become together.

Meanwhile, as far as post-election coalitions are concerned, Mushkolaj says it is hard to predict who can make the coalition with whom, because according to him, it depends on the election outcome.

“either way in the country's two ruling mandates has remained hostage to these coalitions that would have to do big jobs, but that actually stopped by half and didn't do these big jobs that had to be done. There are some topics on the table that political parties must touch and it is a challenge for all who will take over governance to move forward in the political context, dialogue with Serbia, which must be closed in an opital”, says Mushkolaj.

A possible coalition of major political parties in parliamentary elections that could be held this year in Kosovo envisions political affairs analyst Taulant Kryeziu.

The “Ende remains to be clarified, but from what I have seen, and if taken on the basis of the positions that are behind in the dialogue process, there is a closeness to this point between the Democratic League of Kosovo and Vetevendosje. For other parties we have seen the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, which with certain attitudes and statements says it will be alone in the elections, but until the last moment none of the political parties that have been in power are known how they will decide, whether they will enter alone or try to build coalition”, Kryeziu says.

So far, a coalition claim has shown the Vetevendosje Movement, which has invited the Democratic League of Kosovo to co-ordinate forces.

Meanwhile, in an interview for Radio Free Europe LDK Chairman Isa Mustafa has said the party he leads wants to go to the elections alone, but that, according to him, this stance can change and depends on how other parties operate.

Some of the PDK members have claimed that this party will compete alone in the elections, while AAK Chairman Ramush Haradianaj has been declared feeling a close relationship with the Initiative parties, PSD, AKR and some other party.
