Macedonian government with programme for awareness of citizens for language law

The government of the Republic of Macedonia and all institutions responsible for implementing the provisions of this law will take measures to promote the use of all official languages, as well as to ensure the protection of other communities' languages, whose native language is not official language, said at Article 21.

Government spokesman Muhamed Hoxha tells Alsat that the programme being compiled by the working group, with which the deputy secretary of government, Tahir Hani, is aimed at boosting awareness among citizens of the use of official languages. While, as far as institutions are concerned, the latter forces the law itself to use Albanian.

Until the formation of the Inspectorate is the interresponsive group under the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, which follows the assistance and co-ordinates implementation of the laws on the use of languages. As the law envisions, all institutions that fail to implement the law on the use of languages will be sanctioned, as the law predicts, Muhamed Hoxha- spokesman of the Government said.

Despite this, many institutions in the country have yet to begin fully respecting the Law on Language Use, while others do so in part. They should later be one year from the introduction of the above law, all laws and sublegal acts have in Albanian, while according to Article 6 of the Law for Use of Languages, the same must apply bilingual in their official Web sites. How many institutions in the country respect the Albanian language will be well known after the formation of the Language Implementation Inspectorate, the law on the establishment of which has been sent to the Assembly. The inspector should begin operating fully later one year from entering into force the Law on Language Use. /Alsat/
