The nomination for president takes place in the Assembly. Each candidacy must be approved by 50 percent plus 1 of the delegates present.
The LDK statue predicts that if the Assembly does not approve more than one candidacy, then the Parliament decides on the way to elect and vote for chairman.
Present members of the LDK's Headship and General Council also participate in the work of the Assembly, but without the right to vote if not elected delegates to the respective Assembly.
The decisions of the Assembly are all - powerful if more than half of the elected members of the Assembly attend the meeting and if most of those present vote for them.
