This is his full announcement:
On December 8, 2018, I warned the possibility of my failure to run the next election. Among other things, I said that the opposition political <x0-5, blinded by personal conflicts, does not want to answer and take responsibility for our Republic of Kosovo. Instead of the political victory of Kosovo as a priority, it is the most important to us to win individual parties. Therefore, I refuse to be part of this kind of policy, essentialally primitive and extremely irresponsible”.
The October 6th elections could be opportunities for Kosovo's radical political transformation. They won't be. These elections are turning into militants' clashes on one side and trying for political survival on the other. It's not being shown, again, that the maximum and the serious political commitment to substantial change, particularly responsible for this are all going to talk about “changing”.
The opposition until yesterday has had convincing victory guaranteed if it joins, and with a governing reforming and transformative agenda to extract Kosovo from the abyss it is in. Instead, again, you become divided, which, according to my belief, does not bring about the necessary change. Instead of Kosovo's interest, party interest and the position of individuals within the party triumphed.
I have nothing to ask for. Whoever wins 2.3% less or more is not a nation-building agenda, but is an attempt at political survival, without a reforming project, survival that has already reached the peaks of hypocrisy.
In my efforts and my struggle for a country where liberal democracy prevails and good governance, which I have done with as far as I can and honestly, I have been guided only by my beliefs, not by opportunism or calculations. Oportunism would be participating in elections now.
I have been guided by the belief that for new policies it takes individuals who make the political group strong, not militants; that it is important that the political project and the offered solutions, not individual position. I didn't realize that this belief conflicts with the political reality in Kosovo, or I realized too late. This best describes why all those figures that act on the basis of liberal-democrat values are not together, but broken up as right and left, opinionists and activists.
I have obviously made mistakes in my political journey, but these mistakes have damaged me, not the Republic of Kosovo or our people. Now it's time for the balance as a conspiracy of failure to achieve results for a standard and political vision that I look for and promote with persistence, and therefore I respect it myself.
Even though I've been offered space on some election lists and I thank all those who tried to convince me to join me I don't want to work against my beliefs. This does not mean that I will complete my public commitment as a citizen and political activist. I just refuse to become part of the <x0 game” where the required result of the fundamental change I love I don't think will be made in the next election. And therefore I don't see the value of participating.
I believe that my personal decision is the most honorable of my supporters, who I thank from the heart for the constant support I have received and from whom I seek understanding.
