Haskuka keeps the director at work with an indictment despite a different promise

Ertan Simitiu, director of Economy and Finance in Prizren municipality, has been on trial since the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren for criminal work “the mismanagement of the official position”. He is accused of having the directorate's quality in Economics and Finance during January 'December 2016. [...]

He is accused of using official authority in the period of December 2016 in Prizren, in the quality of the Directorate for Economics and Finance, by granting some local media in this city money worth 11 thousand and 800 euros, without having to switch to the tender procedures, which are first by law.

In a written reply, the Constitutional Prosecutor in this municipality has said that by July 31st, he has filed an indictment for Simitiu.

“With a date of 31.07.2019 Basic Prosecutorship in Prizren, the Randa Crime Department, has filed charges against E. S., in the quality of directorship at the Directorate for Economics and Finance, in Prizren's municipality, for criminal work “The use of official position or authority” by Article 422 paragraph 1 concerning paragraph 2, subparography 2.2 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code (KPRK)”, is said in a written response by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren.

Ertan Simitiu told him by phone KTV has yet to accept any notice from the prosecution concerning any criminal offense.

The same is said by the mayor of the municipality, who had promised that during his rule, there would be no staff with charges.

Furthermore, Haskuka has accused the prosecutor of failing to handle files he handed over for abuses of past government.

And the opposition in this municipality demands his dismissal, as it was Haskuka himself who has promised it.

In October of last year, KTV reported that the director of culture in this municipality, Ehat Oreska, was convicted of two criminal acts, but that Mytaher Haskuka had not dismissed him from office.
