Outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has provided an interview for the German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, among other things, where he has spoken of the invitation from the Special Chambers, the resignation, political processes in the country and travel to the international courts in defence of the KLA war.
Speaking of the latest special invitation, Haradinaj said he was surprised by such an invitation as he had twice been accused before the War Crimes Tribunal and was released both times.
In the question about reports of witness threats, Haradinaj said he had never threatened any witnesses and that those who had anything to say against him have done.
According to him, there was only one occasion when a witness had been killed to death, but according to him, only after that was it understood that he was a witness.
There was once a witness who lost his life in an accident with a drunk Serb in Montenegro. But only after his death has it been agreed that he was on the list of potential witnesses against me”, he said.
Asked about the resignation if it came in more because the coalition was not stable, Haradinaj said the “this coalition was ahead of major challenges, but these did not affect my resignation. An invitation from a trial represents a whole new instance of”.
The newspaper has also asked him about whether President Hashim Thaci has been invited to The Hague, but Haradinaj said that “I have heard such speculations everywhere, but I cannot say anything about that”.
