The extremist group, the Islamic State (IS), may be based on Iraq, but the network aims to unite again for any eventual uprising, a group of UN experts at the Security Council has said.
Their position is based on the UN report on the extremist group, in which it is said that its “gravity center” is located in Iraq, where it is believed that the leader of this group, Abu Bakr al-Bghadi, lives.
After leaving Baghdad in March, at the latest base in Syria, the IS leadership now intends to prepare for restitution, it is said in the report.
It has also been said that this group uses “propaganda” to lead as a global terrorist “ ”.
The same views of the IS have been shared by American intelligence officials.
After their defeat in Baghdad, the US envoy to Syria, James Jeffrey, has said that “this is not the end of fighting”.
Citing a report by the Institute for War Studies, the Voice of America has reported that the return of IS “could be faster and more devastating” than before.
Currently it is believed that 10,000-15,000 fighters may be in Syria and Iraq.
The report also mentioned that the IS currently has revenues of between $50m and $300m, but “has a lack of funds” to conduct attacks.
Meanwhile, the future of the other militant group Al-Qaeda is not known because his leader, Ayman al-Zawehair, is reported to be in the <x0-state state and has doubts about how to manage the transfer of competencies to someone else”.
American media have reported on July 31st that Hamza bin Laden, son of the founder of the al-Qaeda group, is already dead.
