Hong Kong has been facing nine consecutive weeks of antigovernmental protests.
On Monday, a call for a general strike cancelled over 200 flights, the BBC reports.
Protesters want an independent investigation into alleged police brutality, the complete withdrawal of a controversial extradition bill and the resignation of Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam.
The demonstrations have often ended up in violent clashes with police.
