According to a Eurostat report, nearly 80 percent of Albania's population had high confidence in the European Parliament by 2018. This was the highest percentage of confidence in relation to other European states.
After Albania, the highest trust in EU institutions is held by EU member states such as Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Holland, Denmark, etc., while the lowest trust was Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Chekhia, Slovenia, France and Ts.
Albania also has the highest trust in EU institutions compared to other countries in the region, while Serbia and Turkey are presented with the lowest trust.
This Albanian High Trust on The EU also reflects on the high use of the euro as currency for transactions. In a recently published study “International EuroRole”, The ECB refers that preferences for the euro are particularly high in Albania and Serbia.
The ECB has noted that following the debt crisis in the 2009 Eurozone, trust in the euro co-ordinated even with national policies in countries has begun to decline. But Albania and Serbia continued to have the highest euro use rate in their cash transactions in relation to other countries.
High trust in EU institutions relates to the fact that Albanians do not trust their public institutions. /Monitor
