Albanian Language Teacher in Turkey Now 16 Years

For the first time this year, she stepped on Kosovo soil and was decorated by the Diaspora Ministry for her contributions to the diaspora. The teacher from Berat, who emigrated to Turkey years ago, has confessed her work in a discussion about the signal. Teuta Tabaku, originally from Berat, now 16 years [...]

Teuta Tabaku, originally from Berat, now 16 years old teaches Albanian to the Albanian community in Bursa, Turkey, and not alone.

Its entry and integration into Turkey had not been that easy. During 1991/92, because of a family case, Teuta emigrated with families to Bursa. Situated in a one-room apartment, with two young children and without knowledge of Turkish language, integration for her family had been a difficult process.

When you didn't know the language, you couldn't find a job. When you don't have a job, you're having trouble surviving”, Teuta said in an interview for the signal.

But that didn't damage it. Other family members were enrolled in Turkish schools, but they never forgot Albanian. Teuta, who had studied Literature at the University of Tirana, began a new mission to the Turkish town of Tʹte to teach Albanian people there Albanian Albanian English.

“is required, is necessary, is one thing to do”, Tabaku said.

And the interest in learning Albanian is not lacking even today. As Teuta has shown, the number of interested ones has increased in the last ten years.

During this school year, it has held Albanian-language lessons for five classes, where it has happened to teach Albanian even children of other countries, such as Turkey and Bulgaria.

Besides children, Teuta and her colleagues are teaching Albanian even to parents of these children. “E have dual work”, she said.

Why she has been on her shoulders for 56 years, she says that her work as an English - language teacher makes her happy.

Give me pleasure, no matter how hard I get. I'd love to, I'd love to. She's playing the town of the corner of the Stock Exchange and she's cornered me.

Tabaku shows that the Turkish state has also increased its support in recent years, as it issued the Law on Dialettes and Languages of the Small Peoples.

“We have support because the classrooms they give us, the payment they make to us”, she stated.

In addition to learning Albanian, Teuta maintains other activities with Albanian students. Through the Turkish-Albanian Literature Club, they prepare poems and plays that they then show in orphanages and similar locations. In the Albanian language service, Teuta continues to contribute via the Internet. On page “

Except as a teacher, years ago, she was engaged in the Albanian Consulate to help register Albanians in the Stock Exchange. For its contribution to the Albanian community, Tabaku has been praised at the “Embassy Award of the Nation”. Also, during August, at the invitation of the Ministry of Diaspore and Strategic Investments, she has visited Kosovo for the first time and has been decorated by MDIS.

The Teta feels honored by this assessment, and has promised to continue with this mission, increasing the number of language classes. Once, it has appealed to Albanian parents everywhere in the world to send children to classes or Albanian-language courses.

“think and I am convinced that Kosovo and Albanian lands will do better if we of the diaspora work still more”, Tabaku has said of the signal.
