Joe Biden was the central target among ten democratic candidates for US president in the second half of the second debate held in Detroit.
His rivals tried to oust the former vice president from the race leader's status.
Unlike last month's debate in Miami, however, where Biden apparently had problems defending his past actions, this time he was ready for war.
The 76-year-olds were led by the youngest and diver candidates who tried to stand out and grow in the polls.
This included California senator Kamala Harris, who had skillfully attacked Benden's past political position in the last debate; and so did New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, with whom Biden fought for criminal justice.
