AUVK spokesman Lamir Thaci told the Online Economy that committed inspectors are on the ground to do control of economic operators, so that products that fail to meet consumer conditions do not fall into consumer hands.
So far, animal-born products are approximately 70 thousand pounds per litre, depending on the measure of the product, and there are other products that have been eliminated. As products, I can say that so far it has passed over 300 thousandkg/litre, to total all products from the three inspectors operating under AUVK”, he told Online Economy.
Thaci says this year there has been only one case presented as suspected of products that have brought human poisoning.
For this, he adds, they have submitted papers to the court to result in the closure of the operator, who has committed violations of the law.
The “E have followed a suspected case in Drenas and in co-ordination with municipal inspectors and officials from the National Institute of Public Health, all actions have been taken, and as co-ordinated authorities we've acted on time, legal measures have been taken, legal closure has been made, restaurant closures have been taken, samples required for case research when dealing with suspicion in poisoning. Some of the samples have proved positive, and according to legal procedure we have initiated papering for the court, as required by law”, he has said.
According to him, AUVK also makes inspections of hydro-sanitary swimming pools to secure citizens for water in pools, while Thaci added that during this year they have received no complaints about hygienic conditions in Kosovo swimming pools.
The Food and Veterinary Agency days ago has eliminated 21 tonnes of meat held in the warehouse of the Kosovo Islamic Community, located in Veternik in Pristina.
Thaci for Online Economy said this institution has found that there has been no capacity for cooling in BIK's warehouse and that freezing has not been done in time.
He says the inspection was made after official request from BIK. The meat is gone and buried in the Obilic garbage dump.
