In the European Parliament, the discussion is under way on Ursula von der Leyeen's candidacy. It has no competitors in its intention of being appointed to the helm of the European Commission, the relevant EU institution.
This afternoon at 6: 00 p.m., Ursula von der Leyeen will face the vote as the next president of the EU Commission. Despite the result in Brussels, it will withdraw from the post of German defence minister.
