The possibility of the Western Balkans is in EU integration and without it there is no economic and democratic development, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic told T V BN.
Asked whether he was hearing more with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq or Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Djukanovic replied: “With Vucicin, much more often”.
“We testify to the global superlocation of politics and security, and we should be interested in Europe keeping its competitiveness”, Djukanovic said.
Speaking to Western Balkan countries, Djukanovic says there has been a lot of unreasonable time and that they have come to the situation that other global players, who have their legitimate interests, showed interest in this region.
The Western Balkans must be a civilisation, a cultural and economic part of Europe, and the EU should be a locomotive that will reveal it”, Djukanovic said.
The depth of enthusiasm for EU enlargement has led to criteria and stricter conditions for joining the EU,” he added.
When it comes to relations with Serbia and President Aleksandar Vuciq, Djukanovic says they have not cooled, but that they are not like before.
“Relations between officials and informals have fewer, some were not informal and were not much earlier, there is communication,” said Djukanovic.
As for recognising Kosovo, Djukanovic said the decision was made by Montenegro's sovereign state based on the assessment of regional interests.
