The Boeing 777-,200 aircraft, with 284 passengers on board, was forced to divert to Hawaii as it was faced with a strong turbulence.
Company officials said the turbulence occurred in clear skies.
At least 37 passengers were injured by the incident in the air.
The plane landed urgently at Hawai's Honolulu airport, and the wounded received their first medical aid.
On board this plane were members of the Australian band Hurricane Fall that via the social Facebook network reported that besides the vocalists who had suffered injuries, others were well.
