Today the State Council of Quality decided not to accept research programs at three public universities: Peja University “Haxhi Zeka”, University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” and Prizren University “Uktin Hoti”.
To such a decision, Prime Minister Haradinaj has just reacted, saying that “unjustly considers denying the possibility of enrolling students, losing them in”.
In fact, the prime minister goes further, claiming that “to this case will act immediately, taking concrete steps in resolving this” situation.
The State Council of Quality is independent authority, and such action by the prime minister constitutes a flagrant violation of this statute.
We remember that last year the Kosovar Accreditation Agency was excluded from “European Quality Assurange Register for Higher Education) E QAR due to Minister Shyqi's decision to download its board immediately.
ECAR had considered it to be political interference and severely violated the institution's independence.
The prime minister's move turns out to be of the same nature. /Periscope
Mr. Haradinaj:
The State Council of Quality's decision to close three public universities is unacceptable; the one in Pec, Mitrovica and Prizren.
As the country's prime minister, I consider it unfair to deny the possibility of enrolling students, losing them the year.
We will act immediately, taking concrete steps to resolve this situation.
